Another family addition: Mango

We’ve had Mango for almost two weeks. She is a beautiful red tabby. She was born on May 15, 2008, so, still a kitty. As a matter of fact, she was born to Little One. It didn’t look that way when we first got her into our house, because Little One, who had been our resident cat for a month, hissed at her. I was worried that they would not get along, but to my great relief, it only took a couple of days for Little One to re-kindle her mother’s instinct and she started grooming Mango. All was well.

I remember seeing her ten days after she was born along with her five siblings.

And seven months later, she has grown into a little fluffy blond. Sometimes, we call her the little dumb blond. She is not dumb, but she is so mellow that she has no distrust in human beings at all. And she has the most innocent eyes.

Despite being eight months old, she is still Little One’s baby and our baby. Little One grooms her often and plays with her, which is a great thing because Little One used to spend most of her day sitting idle underneath our coffee table. What cracks me up is once I caught Mango trying to nurse off of Little One.

One day when I was in the kitchen busy cooking for Erik and assemblying dinner for the two cats, I heard Erik laughing playing with the two cats who were jumping and running around him. It put a smile on my face. This is what a happy family is like. And guess what, I don’t even need to worry about college fund!
