The sunshine shows you picked the perfect day to visit the coast. The last 3 times I tried that ride, there was drizzle on Skyline, and I got so cold I had to give up. Oh well, it's still only June, so I will make it out to Pescadero! I had a dentist appointment in Fremont today, so I managed to sneak in a quick climb up Welch Creek, formerly featured by LKHC.

You are Erik might enjoy this event I posted to the ACTC website:

Um, actually Erik does own two jerseys, but I guess he only pulls out his 24HOA champion jersey for important rides. I do try to throw his jersey in the washer after every use despite some occasional resistance ("what do you wash it for? No, it does not stink!"). But hey, if it makes him easily recognizable, that is nice. I can never tell who is who when everybody is in all kinds of cycling jerseys, helmets, and sunglasses.

25.4mph, you WERE flying down W. Alpine. Nice! I'm sure you'll enjoy all the descents at DR -- ride like the wind!

Bill, that was my first time seeing the hut. What a neat little place! I'm sure many cyclists appreciate it being there. Thanks!

I was chuckling about seeing you too (although not as surprised given you live down there :) I saw Erik first - easy to spot since he was wearing the same jersey (I think) as he was back on that coe trailwork day a year ago! I was ready to see you not far behind but had all of 1 second to yell "Hi Mei... it's Patrick".

I saw that "Go Easy" sign at the top of W. Alpine and spent the rest of the descent pretending to myself that I hadn't seen it! I saw the down rider after passing you and she seemed to be doing ok. I got down W.Alpine in 15:30 min at avg 25.4 mph.. flying :)

Looks like you had a great ride! You've got more dedication than I have going down a hill then turning around and climbing it again - I just can't bring myself to do that - must make a loop somehow :)

I managed a new PB of 152 miles on the Sequoia (with commute to/from home) with 12,500' of climbing. I was only 2 mins off my PB for Tunitas Creek thanks to a 5-10 minute snooze in the sun at the wonderful Bike Hut (prooving that a nap is the organic version of coffee :)

Kinda made my day spotting you and Erik since I wasn't riding with anyone and the group I had descended and climbed with on the Boulder Creek loop had disintegrated at Saratoga Gap.

Congrats on the miles and climbing!
