MTB: Riding in Marin (China Camp, Tamarancho, Pine Mountain)

Another short post just because I’m so behind.

Started out in China Camp. Derek and his co-worker Cherie joined us. We did a smaller loop than I had planned for because we ran out of time while there were people waiting to meet us for Camp Tamarancho in Fairfax.Erik and Derek did play a bit at the Vista Point where there were a couple of scary steep lines that the brave and insane bikers drop down. (Pics and video below.) They both took a spill.

When we drove over, Cherie had to drop out because she hurt her wrist in the falls at China Camp, but Jeanne, my friend at work, and her husband Iztok join us. The five of us headed to Camp Tamarancho. Before looping around, we made an excursion to Pine Mountain Loop. There were sections on that loop, the scenery was gorgeous. The loop at Tamarancho was just pure fun.

The pictures are uploaded to the gallery. Below are highlights:

And a very short video of Derek dropping down the cliff at China Camp:

Here is the GPS track except that we drove from China Camp to Fairfax:

I’m riding in Marin tomorrow, up Mt. Tam, but all of a sudden my ride feels wimpy!

Hahaha… I’ve done a ride up Mt. Tam on my road bike more than a year ago. There are no wimpy rides going up Mt. Tam. That I know. Have a great ride tomorrow, Alison! We’ll be in Tahoe MTB’ing.
