Not too hard, but I decided to give the trails another day to dry out, so I took on my friend Alison&#8217;s invitation to a hike at Big Basin. It&#8217;s been so long since I did a serious hike last time that I got nervous while packing the night before. Erik kindly pointed out that all I needed to do would be as simple as putting one foot in front of the other. That helped. <\/p>\n<p>I met up with Alison and Pat whom I met through Low Key Hill Climbs and Alison&#8217;s friends including Heather (also a cyclist), Mandy (she writes restaurant reviews for the Chronicle. Cool eh?), and Warren (Alison&#8217;s ex-coworker and big time skier). A very fun and lay-back group to be with. We started our hike from Waddell Beach on Hwy 1, and hiked up to Wheat Overlook. It was an out and back trip.
